The focus of this work is on the working class, specifically women in the service sector. These photographs celebrate female African-Americans as individuals, working in the low-wage, fast food industry. The shape of the window frames the individual both compositionally and metaphorically. Simultaneously repetitive and highly individualized, this series undermines the anonymity of fast food service and challenges viewers to look more closely at an iconic space within American food culture.
