Valentine's Day campaign for 7-Eleven
Whether in a linen factory or on the Palais, ad agency 123w scrubs the traditional agency model in favour of a tidy new approach
In little over a year, One Twenty Three West (123w) went from operating out of an East Vancouver garage to being keynote speakers at Cannes to making the shortlist for Marketing magazine’s 2014 Agency of the Year.
However, approaching its building in a central neighbourhood of low-lying industrial units yet to be gobbled up by greedy Vancouver condo developers, there’s no evidence of one of Canada’s hottest new shops. There is a sign, but it says “ALSCO: First in Textile Services Worldwide.”
123w is probably the only agency in the world located inside a working linen factory — or, as co-founder Jeff Harrison calls it: “A time capsule of cool stuff.”
To read how 123w makes it work in this unconventional environment, check your local newsstand for the May/June 2015 edition of Applied Arts. You can also subscribe with a print/digital combination, or purchase single digital copies on our virtual newsstand.
In the meantime, browse this extended gallery of 123w work below and in the top slider.
